We built Lizzy Care to help family, friends and professionals work together to manage the caregiving of a loved one with memory loss. This article discusses how you can make the most of our app in coordinating that care.
Taking care of a loved one with a memory care issue is time consuming and exhausting. It can be tricky to find the exact information you need when you need it. That’s why we designed an app that helps you to communicate with others who are involved in the care of your loved one and give you a tool to coordinate the day-to-day management of their needs. Our goal is to recognize and support the unique needs of dementia caregivers.
The Lizzy Care app allows you to connect each member of the caregiving circle in one place so that you can share updates and assign caregiving tasks and responsibilities and also includes a range of other caregiver resources. We’re constantly striving to make the app better for you and so please get in touch with us with any ideas or suggestions for how we can improve the tool.

Creating an account on the Lizzy Care App
You can create an account on the Lizzy Care app using your email address or you can also quickly sign in using a Google Mail account, your Facebook account or on an iPhone your Apple ID.
Then just put in your name, phone number and create a password. Because data you’ll keep in the app is sensitive we ask that people create a secure password that includes both lower case and upper case characters, a number and a symbol.
Then just tell us a few details about the person you’re caring for. Their name, gender, date of birth and where they are currently living.
You then get the opportunity to invite others to join your new Care Circle. Add the email addresses of anyone who you want to work with to help you take care of your loved one. This could be other family members, friends, aides or other professionals. You can also add people to join the Care Circle at any time. You’re ready to go!
The Care Feed
Caregiving should be a team sport but keeping everyone on the same page can be a burden in and of itself.
The Lizzy Care app revolves around the Care Feed where you can post quick updates so everyone can see how your loved one is doing. Any member of the Care Circle can post to the care feed. This is your shared space to write a note on how your loved one is doing today, discuss things that need to get done and provide important information other caregivers should be aware of, the list goes on.
Although it seems really simple this feed creates a secure place for everyone to tell at a glance how your loved one is doing.
When posting to the Care Feed you can choose to include pictures or a video.
Info
The aim of the Info area is for you to provide any vital information anyone should know about your loved one. Tap on “See more” and you can edit the information on your loved one. You can also add a picture if you’d like.
Good things to keep the General Information are things like medications, allergies, emergency contact instructions and any useful information on how best to take care of your loved one.
You can also see a list of all the other members of the Care Circle and from there you can quickly use one of the buttons to call, email or start a chat with any of them.
If you’d like anyone else in the Care Circle to become an administrator, click on the three dots icon on the far right hand side and select “Make care circle admin.” Administrators are able to delete posts from the care feed, remove other care circle members and edit the General Information area.
Chat
It’s good to talk. The Lizzy Care app supports one-on-one and group based chats to allow you to discuss important topics related to the caregiving of your loved one together. The Chat feature allows you to have more private discussions with individuals or groups in the Care Circle that you don’t want to put on the Care Feed.
We’ve put a lot of time into making sure the Lizzy Care is secure so that you know you have confidence in sharing sensitive information with others using the app.
